  • Paralegal - As Legal Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization's legal work and documents pertaining to company policies' and procedures. Ensuring tasks are done efficiently, accurately, and in line with Texas Laws and company guidelines. Your main focus is Risk Management and handling of drafting, execution, and compliance of contracts. Your role as a Paralegal is to strengthen the company's legal position and aligns with company regulations, and to ensure a smooth transition of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Review, drafting, and managing contracts is a core responsibility, encompassing agreements with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and potential labor agreements. Emphasis is placed on meeting legal terms and conditions, ensuring contractual obligations align with legal standards, and safeguarding the organization's best interests. Regulatory Compliance:

Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to construction services, general labor staffing, and shipyard-specific staffing requirements/operations. This includes adherence to environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry-specific guidelines. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of legislation governing these operations, provide insightful guidance on legal compliance, and adapt strategies to navigate changes in the regulatory landscape, ensuring continual alignment with industry standards.

Litigation Support: Assist in the preparation of comprehensive legal documents for potential litigation matters. Effective interface and collaboration with external legal counsel as needed, ensuring a robust and strategic approach to dispute resolution.

Permitting and Licensing Oversight:

Direct the process of obtaining and renewing essential permits and licenses. Lead initiatives to ensure the organization's consistent compliance with regulatory requisites. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and formulate strategies to mitigate them. Develop and implement risk management protocols, fortifying the organization's resilience in a dynamic business environment. Labor and Employment: Navigate complex employment-related legal matters, including contract negotiations, disputes, and compliance with detailed labor laws. Stay abreast of legislative intricacies, ensuring the organization's adherence to evolving employment regulations. Insurance Matters: Engage in comprehensive analysis and management of insurance-related issues, ensuring optimal coverage alignment and effective claims management. Safeguard the organization's interests through prudent handling of insurance protocols. Document Management: Establish and maintain a systematic framework for organizing legal documents, contracts, and pertinent records.

Ensure the accessibility, accuracy, and confidentiality of all documentation. Training and Legal Awareness: Deliver targeted training sessions to internal team members, equipping them with detailed insights into legal considerations relevant to construction services, and shipyard operations. ? Foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance within the organization.

Environmental Compliance Diligently monitor and enforce adherence to comprehensive environmental regulations governing maritime activities in shipyards. Dispute Resolution: Actively contribute to alternative dispute resolution methods.

Lead mediations or arbitrations to tactfully resolve conflicts and mitigate possibilities for legal escalations. Intellectual Property Protection: Uphold the organization's intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on those pertinent to specialized construction services, innovative staffing techniques and strategies, and unique services tailored for shipyards.

Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in paralegal or legal studies. ? Certification as a paralegal is advantageous. ? Proven track record as a paralegal, with expertise in construction service activities, staffing practices, and processes governed by maritime law. ? Knowledge of construction, staffing practices, and shipyard industry regulations. ? Good organizational and multitasking skills. ? Clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills. ? Proficiency in legal research and document management software. ? Attention to detail, accuracy, and solid documentation.
