Job Description:
To coordinate or assist in reimbursement for services provided at all retail and specialty pharmacies. Accurately filing insurance claims for purpose of settling claims with insurance carrier. Verifies accuracy of billing data and revises any errors. Operates typing, adding, calculating, and billing software.
Prepares itemized statements, bills, or invoices; and records amounts due for services rendered. Reviews documents such as charge slips in order to compute fees and appropriately charge responsible parties. Performs data entry work, including posting charges and keeping other records concerning patient charges. Keeps records of supporting documents. Resolves discrepancies in accounting records. Types billing documents, processes credits using computers. Contacts patients in order to obtain or relay account information. Computes rates for services in order to complete billing documents. Ensures contracts are maintained.
Qualifications:
High School graduate
Medical terminology preferred
Customer service experience required
Experience in pharmacy billing preferred
Computer experience preferred
Pharmacy Technician registration referred
