Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Main responsibility is to integrate the P20 propulsion system (engine, nacelle and thrust reverser) with the airframer. Currently in the sustaining phase with 300+ engines in the field, the G7500 airframe and engines are also being developed to introduce the G8000, which will have increased capabilities

  • Lead product improvements between GE and Bombardier, acting as a liaison and ensuring that GE meets requirements for new designs, both in Part 25 and 33 realms.

  • Coordinate priorities and worklist items among supply chain, P20 program, and design teams.

  • Lead resolution of field problems

  • Support field service engineers that are stationed world-wide, and mainly at the Bombardier final assembly line and Bombardier finishing center

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

  • In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.

  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.

  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
