Synchrony Bank AVP, Reliability Engineer in West Chester, Ohio
AVP, Reliability Engineer, Synchrony Bank, West Chester, OH. Ensure the reliability and adaptability of one or more enterprise-scale applications. Developing reliability process, including maintenance and support, root cause analysis, systems validation, performance, tuning and capacity management. Develop DevOps/CICD pipelines and processes that improve reliability of systems in production, fixing issues, and responding to incidents/on-call events. Support a root cause analysis program leading to reduced downtime and increasing resiliency and continuous improvement. Design and implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance with service agreements and objectives. Drive technical innovation, simplification, and automation. Ensure efficiency in application and infrastructure operations. Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
* *40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor, progressive, related work experience.
Must have five (5) year experience with/in:
- Application development and support for associated infrastructure, such as Webservers, App servers/containers, version control, development languages, databases, operating systems and CDN's;
- Fintech industry as it relates to consumer financing;
- Full stack development using Spring, other JEE technologies, Spring REST API, or UI technologies and frameworks;
- Designing, building, and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems;
- Application design such as IaaS, PaaS, IAM, CICD tools and caching solutions; and
- Reliability engineering tools such as observability, data analytics and ITIL.
