PVI construction and maintenance Journeyman Electrician in West Chester, Pennsylvania

We are currently seeking a Journeyman licensed Electrician. PVI has an immediate need at their West Chester, PA branch for a skilled Commercial, Industrial Electrician to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment and systems. Candidate must have at least 5-7 years of experience in commercial and Industrial electrical wiring and must have general knowledge of the NEC and best electrical wiring practices. We occasionally do some work in neighboring states or towns that require an electrical license therefore we are in need of a competent electrician with the ability to take tests to obtain licenses as needed. Must have a solid understanding of three phase electric and commercial service. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment • Direct manpower and participates in daily preventive and corrective maintenance as well as general construction • Maintains daily works orders/records of equipment, inspections, preventive maintenance activities and produces periodic reports • Documentation of daily site work and safety procedures • Able to read prints and wiring diagrams • Able to read and interpret Electrical measuring equipment • Troubleshoots repairs, replaces electrical equipment. Troubleshooting and changing out electrical equipment and motors • Able to use electrical testing instruments, power hand drills, soldering equipment, pipe tools, miscellaneous hand tools, material handling equipment, etc. • Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs including wiring single/three phase motors • Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown • Previous experience working with voltages of 24 through 480 volts single and three phase equipment • Installation of and troubleshoot existing electrical systems for customers • Run conduit from distribution to devices or panels, Install junction boxes, AC disconnect, Load Center, ATSs, Generators, MDPs, MCC and other electrical equipment • Assist project manager and sales consultants with electrical design and assist with pulling electrical permits as needed. • Pre job planning to compile list of parts needed and scope of work. Communicate with customer regarding conduit run and location of devices etc • Calculate wire size with ampacity and voltage drop calculations and conduit sizing • Provide direction and assist all electrical wiring pulls and terminations Qualified candidates must possess: • At least 5-7 years of electrical experience • Current Journeyman or Master Electrician license • Provide direction and assist all electrical wiring pulls and terminations • Strong leadership skills and communication skills • Strong instrumentation, PLC, VFD, HMI, generators and leadership skills • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E and crane rigging card a plus but not required • CDL class B with air brake endorsement or willingness to obtain desirable. • Must be willing to travel. This position requires the candidate to be driven, a self-starter, good communicator. Compensation dependent upon years of experience and skill mix.
