Position Title

Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to

Plant Manager

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes quality assurance processes and sequences, proposes and implements improvement projects on site or unit level, and may act as respective Project Leader. The Manufacturing Engineer is the liaison with other engineering functions or external vendors or service providers. The Manufacturing Engineer manages overall ramp-up phase and ensures process documentation.

  • Oversee the implementation of improvements to the sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters.

  • Design production tooling, fixtures, and equipment

  • Identify cost deduction opportunities and analyze for project rationale.

  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.

  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.

  • Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.

  • Develop and implement improvements to the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.

  • Provide leadership on cost reduction activities.

  • Improve ergonomics and safety.

  • Justify and procure equipment and other capital improvements to maintain a world class position for all NYAB locations.

  • Ability to train new and existing personnel for using any new/improved processes.

  • Provide shop-floor support on process and quality issues. Provide leadership in coordinating resolutions with other internal functions (Quality, SCM, Engineering, Sales etc.)

  • Assist with planning of current and future capital budgets.

    Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Has basic SAP knowledge.

  • Has working knowledge of CMMI and ISO Standards

  • Has excellent time management skills.

  • Analytical Thinking - Refers to collecting, analyzing and structuring information using a wide perspective in order to identify key issues and patterns as well as to drawing conclusions.

  • Managing & Improving Processes - Describes the ability to plan, prioritize, monitor and improve work processes and allocate resources.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office work environment position.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • 2-5+ Years of Relevant Experience

    Preferred Education and Experience

  • ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9001:2015, CMMI Dev 1.3
