PackSmart, Inc. Service Associate in West Chicago, Illinois

The Position: PackSmart is a growing packaging equipment and supply company looking to add a Service Associate to support our team. The ideal candidate would have a one-year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months of related experience and/or training. This position would act as a liaison between our service and sales/finance teams. The Service Associate assists in managing logistics of service technicians and repair calls to maximize efficiency. Starting compensation is $20-24/hour commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel to our West Chicago location

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to work in challenging and time-sensitive situations

  • Must be able to problem solve

  • Excellent Attention to Detail, Organized and Analytical

  • Energetic, Positive Attitude, Team-Orientated, Self-Starter who can work alone and collaboratively to achieve team goals

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and appropriate management of service department email account

  • Work with Service Manager to schedule service calls, demos, installations and log into tracker

  • Sources parts and prepare proposals/quotes for customers/prospects

  • Creates New Item #’s in ERP as required

  • Work with Customer Service team to quote and ship drop ship parts orders

  • Controls Parts Inventory; receive shipments physically and into ERP

  • Primary backup for Order Entry/Tracking/Invoicing: Machinery, Parts, Service Orders

  • Works with Operations department to track leased assets

  • Ability to manage urgent service requests/projects

  • Provides additional support as needed where a staffing shortage exists

  • Finds cost saving measures by streamlining processes and overseeing consistently accurate pricing

  • Strives for customer satisfaction by responding promptly to all requests
