Robert Half is looking for a Treasury Accountant for a client in the western suburbs. The Treasury Accountant plays an integral part in the Treasury function, tasked with a variety of responsibilities including day to day cash management, cash accounting, foreign currency transactions, global cash and debt reporting, external bank platform management, account reconciliation responsibilities and identifying/implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor the day-to-day banking activities of the company

• Monitor and report cash positions in multiple currencies, daily/week/monthly as required

• Analyze, reconcile and record general ledger account activity for assigned accounts

• Serve as primary point of contact for bank and cash related inquiries

• Support Assistant Treasurer with foreign currency management, including spot trades and forward contracts

• Maintain reporting for intercompany debt for global operations

• Generate detailed reports and analysis to support the annual budget process

• Provide documents as needed for the annual external audit

• Support accounting and schedules for fixed assets

• Assist in upgrading global treasury and cash management processes

• Perform other projects, analysis and duties as requested

Successful Treasury Accountant will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting OR 3+ years of progressive experience in a treasury function

• Knowledge of corporate cash management, financial accounting, and general ledger

• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; strong Excel skills required

• Experience with SAP ECC 6 or S/4 a plus

• Successful candidate will be detail oriented, accurate, reliable and flexible

Requirements • Possess a minimum of three years of experience in a Treasury Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in banking operations and cash activity management

• Familiarity with corporate treasury and global treasury operations

• Experience in handling treasury operations

• Knowledge of fixed assets accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in using SAP software

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is a plus.
