Job Opening - Construction Laborer / Datacenter Installer
Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
Schedule: Monday - Friday / 1st shift 7 am - 4 pm / Weekly Pay
Requirements: Experience in the construction field / Valid Drivers License / Clean Record
Job Description: Seeking reliable & motivated construction workers to join our team at the Microsoft Data Center in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will assist in the installation and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems essential for data center operations. This is a prime opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a high-tech environment and contribute to cutting-edge technology infrastructure in the construction field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation of low voltage cabling, including copper and fiber optic cables, according to specifications and industry standards.
Support the team in running, terminating, and labeling cables in various configurations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Conduct site cleanup and maintain a safe and organized work environment throughout the installation process.
Follow plans, diagrams, and instructions from supervisors and lead technicians to complete installations accurately.
Conduct basic testing of installed cabling to ensure functionality and compliance with standards.
Help troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cabling installations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in general labor or construction is preferred; experience in low-voltage cable installation is a plus but not required.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and installation techniques.
Work Environment:
Work will be performed on-site at Microsoft Datacenter.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 1st shift 7 am - 4 pm.
The role may involve working in confined spaces and varying temperatures.
