Lifeguard - West Hartford, CT
Part-time, up to 20 hrs/wk
HealthFitness is looking for Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at our client site located in West Hartford, CT. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.
What you'll be doing
Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
Respond appropriately to any emergency.
Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
What you'll need to have
Must be at least 16 years old.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification required.
Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:
500 yard swim.
Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
Compensation : $16.50/hr.
