Job Details The Billing Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of functions including preparation of bills, follow up and collections, preparations of monthly accounting statistical reports and payroll. Responsibilities: Collects copayments and verify insurance coverage Retrieve of referrals Obtain all authorizations Enters patient information into computer system Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Billing experience required including cash posting, CPT and ICD-9 codes Must be able to read, write and comprehend medical terminology Medicare, Medicaid and third party insurance experience Typing 30 WPM required, Alpha Numeric-5000 Keystrokes per hour. A computer/typing test will be administered to all applicants Excellent telephone and communication skills Computer proficient. One year hospital billing experience preferred Salary Range USD $21.72 - USD $27.14 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
