Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (West Point, GA)
Plan and direct the Quality Control programs for supplied parts through collaborative partnerships within the company and with suppliers. Utilize Supplier Process Audits, Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) review and approvals, Good Part Teardowns, Daily Quality Management part checks and similar processes. Ensure the resolution of production related issues between areas, support daily review of Non-Conforming Product (NCP), retro-fits, yard campaigns and material checks as needed. Monitor, and investigate concerns related to internal and external quality indicators and drive continuous improvement through root cause and short-term / long-term counter measures. Work within cross functional teams, strive for continuous improvements and customer satisfaction in all facets of the business.
Up to 40% domestic and international travel.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field. Foreign equivalents accepted.
2 years experience in the supplier quality engineering field within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Must include some experience with: - Monitoring and implementing engineering changes with suppliers. - Risk analysis for product implementation, process and improvement strategies. - Root cause analysis by using engineering problem-solving methodologies - Manufacturing process audits - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) - Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Control Plan knowledge - Automotive Industry KPIs analysis
