Description
Lindsey McCarthy is seeking an experienced Billing & Collections Specialist to join our client's team in Buffalo, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in billing, collections, and accounts receivable. This role involves managing client accounts, issuing invoices, and overseeing the collection of outstanding balances to ensure timely payments. Strong communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and issue invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
Track and monitor accounts receivable and collections activity.
Conduct proactive follow-up on past-due accounts and resolve outstanding balances.
Maintain accurate records of billing, payments, and account statuses.
Communicate with clients to address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy and resolve any disputes.
Generate and analyze aging reports to monitor outstanding receivables.
Assist in the month-end closing process and reconcile accounts receivable balances.
Comply with company policies and procedures related to billing and collections.
Provide regular updates on account status to management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong knowledge of billing processes, collections procedures, and applicable regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
