Robert Half Payroll Manager in Westchester, Illinois

Description

We are looking for a competent Payroll Manager who has expert experience in Canadian and US Payroll. In this role, you will oversee a team of payroll associates, respond to complex payroll requests, and consult on intricate payroll situations. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage a team of payroll associates

• Handle complex payroll requests that regular associates may not be able to address

• Consult on complex payroll situations to provide expert solutions

• Manage ad hoc payroll requests to ensure the smooth running of the payroll function

• Participate in the conversion process from ADP EV5 to ADP GlobalView

• Utilize knowledge of Cronos and strong Excel skills in day-to-day tasks

• Act as a team player and resource for the entire team, fostering a collaborative environment

• Keep track of requests and deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner

• Proactively manage tasks and responsibilities, demonstrating strong organizational skills.

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management within the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now.

• Working knowledge of Ceridian, Data Processing, and Great Plains (GPAC).

• Experience with 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software.

• Familiarity with accounting and benefit functions.

• Strong understanding of compliance standards and procedures.

• Experience with Canadian Payroll and EV5.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
