A Typical Day

The First Vice President Portfolio Investments will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of credit-sensitive mortgage-backed securities and loans within our investment portfolio. As the FVP Portfolio Investments , you will leverage your expertise in fixed income securities and credit analysis, and you will play a pivotal role in driving portfolio performance and maximizing risk-adjusted returns. You will also be responsible for overseeing a small team of investment professionals driving the development and execution of investment strategies focused on credit-sensitive assets.

The First VP Portfolio Investments will:

  • Provide strong leadership to a team of analyst fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

  • Lead the strategic management of credit-sensitive mortgage-backed securities and loans, including asset selection, portfolio allocation based on projected risk-adjusted returns

  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis, valuation assessments, and risk evaluations of mortgage-backed securities and loans to identify investment opportunities and inform decision-making processes

  • Build financial models and conduct model validation, verify inputs/assumptions on an ongoing basis

  • Collaborate analytically with other groups within the Capital Markets division and our Financial Analysis and Valuation department including Financial Modeling and Governance

  • Prepare comprehensive investment reports, presentations, and executive summaries to communicate portfolio performance, investment recommendations, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders

  • Oversee the opportunity and risk analysis of new product offerings

  • Build controls and processes to ensure zero defect execution on activities within areas of responsibility

  • Conduct extensive data science/analytics to understand the impact all collateral characteristics have on overall performance of origination and servicing portfolios

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFA) preferred

  • 7 years of experience in portfolio management, with a focus on credit-sensitive mortgage-backed securities and loans

  • Strong quantitative, problem solving, and statistics and financial engineering skills

  • Extensive experience with SQL, VBA, Bloomberg, and IntexCalc

  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage-backed securities, structured finance products, and credit analysis methodologies

  • Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and risk assessment techniques

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving collaborative decision-making processes

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role

  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role

  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
