UCLA Health Float Lead Pharmacy Technician - Oncology, Various Locations in Westlake Village, California
Description
In this role, you will perform duties found in the HLT II job description in addition to floating to other sites as needed. Additional responsibilities include: training, mentoring, and general oversight; training Nurses in hazardous drug handling and preparation; coverage for absence or illness; interface with nurses, nurse-practitioners and physicians as required for performance of job duties including prior authorizations, dose rounding and waste documentation, patient assistance enrollment, in-office dispensing, and refill authorizations; and ongoing evaluation of services to prevent waste and ensure safety and quality. Active contributor to the design and implementation of expanded roles for the DOM Pharmacy Department.
Salary range: $34.92/hr - $46.09/hr
Qualifications
Required:
California Pharmacy Technician License
Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical abbreviations
Knowledge of metric and apothecary units.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical generic and trade names and dosage forms
Accurately perform mathematical calculations
Competency in Care Connect, Microsoft Office, LYNX, EPIC/BEACON
Interpret prescriptions, convert units, measure and prepare prescriptions, IV solutions, and IV medication
Proficient in aseptic technique, handling, preparation, and disposal of hazardous drugs
Conduct critical evaluation of procedures to ensure quality and effect positive change
Train, mentor, and serve as resource for other staff
Able to conduct site visits to provide training and conduct quality control assessments
Able to maintain equanimity and composure in stressful situations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently
Reliable, prompt, efficient
Able to demonstrate professional, ethical, constructive, positive conduct
Available transportation to commute between Hem/Onc offices for float coverage
