POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION The EMS Field Coordinator position is an administrative position responsible for overseeing field operations and the delivery of emergency medical care by department Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel. Work involves the coordination of the Fire Department's continuing education program, the procurement and maintenance of EMS-related equipment, participation in community outreach programs, instruction at EMS-related public education events, and the monitoring of Fire Department compliance with medical protocols and techniques to ensure continued improvement in the quality of care. Employees in this class work under the direct supervision of the EMS Chief. This is a commissioned, safety-sensitive position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses and Certifications Required:

High school diploma or GED Current State of Colorado Paramedic Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider Certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Certification ICS 700, ICS 800, ICS 100, ICS 200 CPR/BLS Instructor Certification Minimum two (2) years of experience as a 911-response Paramedic with cumulative career EMS provider experience of five (5) years Proficiency utilizing software and computer equipment relevant to the position Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record throughout employment The following certifications will be required after appointment, if not already possessed: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Certification Colorado State Fire Instructor I Certification OR Colorado State EMS Primary Instructor Certification ICS 300 Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
