Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering Technical Services, to join our Engineering team on our site in Westport, Mayo. The Snr Manager Engineer, Technical Services is responsible for multiple projects within Engineering including, Utility Engineering and development of an overall Utilities LRP. The primary goal is to provide and maintain a sustainable, high-quality Utility Service in the bio-pharmaceutical industry in the most efficient, compliant, and cost-effective manner. This person will report to the Director of Site Technical Services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Complete established goals, prioritizing project work, controlling, and coordinating key activities and improvement efforts across the Utilities Services.

  • Drive and lead Technical Services to meet Safety, Environmental, GMP, Production and Financial Objectives.

  • Deliver performance aligned to the Perfect Index.

  • Develop a strong team of engineers, clearly outlining Goals & Objectives in line with abbvie expectations and behaviors. This includes Performance Management and follow up.

  • Strong contributor to the Long-Range Planning (LRP) associated with Utilities and Facilities by Liaising with key stake holders / IFM provider, inhouse technical to ensure a robust 5-year plan is maintained to deliver consistent high-level performance.

  • Monitor and assure compliance with all regulatory & AbbVie standards when completing projects.

  • Provide innovative solutions for issues related to Facility and Utility operations as required to meet changing business needs.

  • Develop plans in response to corporate audits and regulatory actions related to facilities and associated support systems.

  • Ensure effective cross-functional relationships with Operations Stakeholders and above site Stakeholders.

  • Reviewing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Equipment and Instrument Specifications, Instrument Lists (IL), Layout & Routing Diagrams, Installation Plans & requirements.

  • Identification and project management of continuous improvement projects.

  • Manage key aspects of site activities including (but not limited to) Building Structures, Controlled Drawings, Security and Site access, Shutdown Planning, Contractor Management, Support RCA’s, Support Global Engineering.

  • Site Lead in working with Global Engineering providing strong justifications to ensure funding is secured for the site Facility initiatives.

  • Develop strong relationships with local municipalities & Legal to ensure that the site is always fully compliant with all planning regulations along with developing a positive relationship with local residence.

Qualifications

  • Third Level qualification in Engineering/Building Services or equivalent with a minimum of five years’ experience of leading a Team in the execution of Capital projects, in a comparable industry.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required to work in a multi-function, matrix team and organisation.

  • Experience of H&S, HSA and QA requirements.

  • Proven ability to maintain budgets and schedules.

  • Experience in dealing with Design Teams, the Tender process and Contractor
