U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Logistic Management Specialist in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico

About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Maintenance Division and the Installation Maintenance Officer of the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC). Responsibilities Provide technical assistance, advice and instructions to operation sections of the Division concerning the maintenance and use of materials and equipment. Apply a broad knowledge of technical support and material readiness requirements to accomplish the mission. Arrange and coordinate a variety of maintenance sites facilities, equipment, and tools to meet the logistical, administrative and maintenance support requirements of the Maintenance Division tactical and commercial equipment support missions. Determine specific services, shop equipment and tooling required and takes appropriate action to acquire such facilities, tools, special test equipment, and parts to accomplish ground equipment maintenance and support mission. Assure proper accountability of shop property and equipment utilized to accomplish missions. Plan, organize and execute special projects and high priority programs, to include overall deployments, redeployments, and recovery. Assist in short and long range planning, coordination, and direction of Ground Base Operations, Field Sustainment and RESET/Reconstitution, Left Behind Equipment (LBE), Pass Back maintenance support for the Installation. Serves as the Chief, Maintenance Division and the Installation Maintenance Officer of the LRC for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC). As the Chief, Maintenance Division, serves as the maintenance policy and technical advisor to the LRC Director and units. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes executing maintenance operations to include monitoring expenditures, determining the funding, personnel requirements, or timelines; preparing after action reports; and analyzing maintenance logistics activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Awareness Program Management Teamwork Technical Competence Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
