Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Whitehall, Michigan

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking to fill multiple Maintenance Technician positions for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Candidates must have a journeyman card or at least 8 years of hands-on maintenance machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment. This is a union facility, and union membership is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipefitting, welding, and small fabrication tasks.

  • Align belts and sheaves.

  • Repair hydraulic and pneumatic machines.

  • Troubleshoot and repair down machines.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 8 years of documented millwright/machine repair experience OR completion of an apprenticeship program with a certificate substantiating completion.

  • Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Machine Repair certification.

Work Environment

Our facilities are clean and organized, with 10 plants in total. The 2nd shift runs from 2:45 pm to 10:45 pm with a $.23 shift premium, and the 3rd shift runs from 10:45 pm to 6:45 am with a $.28 shift premium. Employees join the union after a 60-day probation period and start paying union dues, which are 2 ½ times their hourly rate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62296.00 - $62296.00

• 60 day waiting period – benefits begin on day 61 – enrollment information will be mailed to your home address 7-14 days after you have completed probation.

• Additional benefit information will be provided during new hire orientation

Vacation

 Vacation is earned at the rate of 8 hours per month, maximum of 80 hours. (but cannot be used until after the 61st day) Example: hired in May – 8 hours x 8 months remaining = 64 hours for remainder of year. January of following year resets to 80 hours and 80 hours each year thereafter.

Effective 1/1/2023 - 70% 401k match up to 6% Contribution

(You may save between 1% up to 25%)

• Money that merges into the Savings Plan is 100% vested.

• You are 100% vested in the company matching contributions made to your account.
