JOB REQUIREMENTS: The purpose of positions in this classification is to perform paraprofessional case management work to establish paternity and enforce child support and medical support obligations according to applicable policies, statutes, rules and regulations. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Child Support. Maintain case history records and prepare reports. Interview clients individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to prioritize tasks to meet needs of agency functions. Ability to exercise independent judgment and carryout assignments with minimal supervision while recognizing when it is appropriate to ask for guidance. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records, customers and cases. Skills in critical thinking and problem solving for the purpose of gathering, organizing, evaluating information and prioritizing for the purpose of determining next appropriate action. Ability to persuade, convince, and/or train others. Ability to advise and interpret how to apply policies, procedures and standards to specific situations. Ability to utilize a variety of advisory data and information such as legal documents, income records, lab results, medical records, account records, agency policies and procedures, state statutes, federal register, directories, guidelines, non-routine correspondence, and computer databases. Ability to effectively communicate and maintain a professional demeanor, especially in instances when the information being communicated may not be well-received. Ability to calculate percentages, fractions, decimals and ratios. Ability to interpret basic descriptive statistical reports. Ability to use functional reasoning and apply rational judgment in performing diversified work activities.
