CNC Machinist -- Multiple shifts available
2nd shift: Monday-Friday: 3:00pm-11:00pm 3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday: 11:00pm-7:00am
Summary:
Responsible for running multiple products or multiple processes either via a single automate machine or via multiple machines including robotics that work through multiple steps or completing a process within a production cell.
Duties:
- Working in a team environment safely, operating complex production equipment, manufacturing software and tools in the manufacturing and packaging of various products
- Following of digital work instructions, blueprints, guidelines, diagrams, and schematics to ensure product and customer specifications and tolerance levels are met. Interpretation of dashboards and reporting tools
- Executing equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and sustained production.
- Makes necessary adjustments to existing equipment, provides continuous feedback for manufacturing process improvement, providing quality control and in-process production testing for the design new equipment
- Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
- Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow rations, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications
- Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Set up and operate, in an efficient timely manner, a wide range of machine tools, such as mill-turns, mills, lathes and grinders, powder presses on a diverse range of product involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances and complex shapes
- Align and secure tooling, holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Setting up and modifying program for Robot and/or Vision Systems. Write product specific and robot programs by material master
- Modify programs in response to problems
- Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages
- Use Optical Guide Post (OGP) and Optical comparator to check advanced quality parameters
- Troubleshooting, determining causes or operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Adjusting program in PLC to manipulate part of specification
- Confer with engineering, supervisory or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
- Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries and communications accurately and timely
- Move all materials, either physically or mechanically necessary to complete assignments
- Perform inspection of machined products by selecting and setting up prevision gaging to ensure external and internal quality specifications and requirements
- Adhere to and follow all company safety policies and procedures to assure commitment to 100% safe work environment
- Support the Lean Enterprise initiatives and continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction through improved quality, reduction in waste and improved productivity
- Modify existing equipment and helping design new equipment for continual manufacturing process improvement, providing quality control and in-process production testing
Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- 1-3 years of experience
Vocational training or the equivalent experience and may require external certification but typically does not require a university degree
PREFERRED:
Technical knowledge -- apprenticeship/technical certifications/Associates
