  • This position requires an associates degree and a minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in human resources processes to assist in the recruitment, onboarding and professional development efforts within an organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, and SharePoint.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality are imperative.

Responsibilities of this position include preparing and processing all onboarding documentation, entering the data into Colleague (ERP), scanning, filing and maintaining all personnel files. The Human Resources specialist will facilitate the recruitment and onboarding process in the colleges HRIS (NeoEd) to ensure an optimal recruitment and onboarding process. This position coordinates all aspects on the preboarding and onboarding related to all part-time, full-time and temporary hires for the college. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for designing and facilitating blended learning solutions (classroom/virtual) and providing assistance in the coordination of professional support that meets organizational and individual needs in the areas of onboarding, team building, employee professional development. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for new employee orientation and onboarding, employee recognition, and implementing the talent development for the college professional staff. The Specialist will administer and report on the initiatives overall impact to the organization and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Work involves identifying needs and communicating onboarding, learning, employee professional development solutions and making recommendations to campus clients. The work includes assisting in the development of onboarding, goals and talent development plans for new staff and employee at large upon request and coaching them towards desired outcomes. The Specialist will also be responsible for updating the HR SharePoint and and promoting employee learning and development opportunities. The Specialist also provides assistance with promoting and planning workshops, retreats and recognition programs as needed. The specialists role includes coaching employees to create relevant onboarding and talent development plans that align with their roles and responsibilities; Assist in setting goals and providing ongoing feedback as requested.

Percentage of Time: 70%

Description of Work Facilitates the recruitment and onboarding process in NeoEd including assisting the interview committees, hiring managers and applicants in the interviewing processes to ensure an optimal full cycle recruitment process. Coordinates onboarding data entry in Colleague (ERP), scanning, filing maintain personnel files and utilizes Etrieve for electronic filing . Manages the LMS system (Vector) and works with the Human Resources Director to evaluate and recommend new training and professional development opportunities. Assist in maintaining the HR SharePoint site including adding and updating as needed. The Specialist is responsible for maintaining the exit interview data and providing the director of human resources with data as needed to make regular reports to leadership.

Oversees all onboarding communication and documentation for new employees after the offer is accepted through the employees first day of employment. Coordinates interviews for applicants in support of the interview committees as necessary to coordinate the interview process. Coordinates the new hire orientation for the college with the assistance of the director of human resources.
