UW - WHITEWATER Network Integration Specialist - IT in WHITEWATER, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: UW JOB ID: 21249 ATTENTION: Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a Network Integration Specialist (Technical Integration Engineer I, IT041). JOB DETAILS: The IT Services division (ITS) provides computer technology services to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at the Whitewater and Rock County campuses. ITS delivers desktop and server computing services and supports networks, telecommunications, Internet connectivity, administrative and academic systems, security, instructional technology and other functions. The Network Operation Center (NOC) is a department within ITS and is responsible for the management, operation and support of the university network, servers, and other IT infrastructure components. The Network Team is hiring a Network Integration Specialist to focus on UW-Whitewater\'s network operations, alerting, monitoring, eAccess administration, and Linux administration. This position will report to the Network Operations Director. The Network Integration Specialist assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure and/or routine technical integrations across multiple systems, including in-house systems, acquired commercial, and external such as Cloud hosted. The position provides day-to-day maintenance to ensure subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met. This position focuses on the network operations, alerting, and monitoring tasks to ensure the reliability, availability, and security of the university network. Linux Administration and eAccess administration are additional responsibilities. This position will have some evening/weekend work and on-call duties. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Integrates, identifies, troubleshoots, monitors, and resolves basic supported services, systems, network, and application problems according to established processes and procedures -Serves as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, communicating issue updates and resolutions -Creates user training materials and basic technical documentation regarding system operations and changes -Configures, maintains, upgrades, develops, and tests IT systems and services in alignment with industry best practices -Assists with running, maintaining, and operating technical systems and infrastructure -Works collaboratively with other members of the network team to cross-train, and establish well-documented business processes -Supports the university help desks through advice, phone or in-person support, and ticket escalation processes, as needed -Trains staff and/or clients and serves as a main point of contact for internal and external individuals and groups -All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Network Operations Director, the Deputy CIO or the CIO TO ENSURE CONSIDERATION: Applications received by October 23, 2024 are ensured full consideration.
