UW - WHITEWATER Transfer Admissions Counselor in WHITEWATER, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21184 ATTENTION: The department of Admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks 2 Transfer Admissions Counselors (Admissions and Recruitment Coord II, AE084). JOB DETAILS: The Transfer Admissions Counselor will work as a team member in a fast-paced workplace focused on customer service, enrollment management and student success. This is a 12-month, full-time position that reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions. The Transfer Admissions Counselor will support the division of Academic Affairs and the Admissions Office, through the recruitment of transfer students, as well as the processing and evaluation of transfer applications. The Transfer Admissions Counselor will be responsible for recruiting, admitting and enrolling a talented and diverse student body. This staff member will be the primary contact with prospective transfer students and their families to promote the opportunities offered at UW-Whitewater. Recruitment territory will center on two-year feeder institutions and military installations in Wisconsin and Illinois. A significant part of the recruitment process will be establishing and nurturing relationships that allow students to learn about UW-Whitewater, including but not limited to transfer advisors at key schools. Additionally, this person will review and evaluate transcripts, enter data into the student information system and make admission decisions for transfers. The Transfer Admissions Counselor will collaborate with other Admissions Office staff members and other departments across our two campuses, working together to coordinate recruitment activities and outreach efforts. Travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Counsel prospective students and their families in person, over the phone and electronically regarding the admission process, decisions, transfer credit, academic programs and university resources. -Coordinate with the Assistant Director, Transfer Coordinator to strategize efficient travel and recruit transfer students at community colleges and technical colleges, including traveling to those regions in Wisconsin and Illinois. -Assist with freshman recruitment events at high schools, college fairs and other recruitment opportunities. -In conjunction with the Communications Coordinator and other members of the Admissions team, coordinate the communication strategy to transfer students. Assist in the building of and execution of drip campaigns, calling campaigns, and other marketing related items through the use of Slate.
