MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Job Purpose: The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing routine administrative tasks to assist the

Providers and other health practitioners with patient care to ensure quality and efficiency. In addition to

administrative duties, Medical Assistants perform routine and some non routine clinical duties in accordance to

state law under the direction of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability

required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential

functions.

1. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.

2. Current and valid certification to practice as a Medical Assistant required.

3. One (1) year of previous experience in a medical assistant role highly preferred.

4. Has a demonstrated and proficient understanding of medical terminology.

5. Have a positive, friendly and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable populations including those made vulnerable by their

financial status, personality characteristics, place of residence, health status and/or age.

7. Adept at working well with team members.

8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

9. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.

10. Ability to multi-task and organize work effectively while working independently and/or as a cooperative

team member.

11. Remain flexible to with stand unpredictable changes to workflow and schedules.

12. Pay starts at \$16.00 per hour and dependent on years of experience.
