Protective Industrial Products Front Line Leader in Wilkesboro, North Carolina
Job Summary
The Front-Line Leader oversees the day-to-day operations of our second shift production team and all departments who will be working on the second shift. They are responsible for managing a team of production employees, ensuring safety standards are met, maintaining quality control, and optimizing productivity.
Job Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assessing and documenting safety incidents including near misses within assigned area.
Promote a safe work environment and implement safety initiatives to reduce accidents and injuries.
Operational Excellence:
Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing and resources as needed to meet production targets.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
Identify and address operational bottlenecks and implement solutions for process improvement.
Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of front-line employees to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
Monitor employee performance against attendance, safety, productivity standards
Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to quality control standards and procedures.
Investigate and resolve quality issues in collaboration with quality assurance and engineering teams.
Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Performance Management:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, efficiency, and quality.
Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Develop action plans to address performance gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics to ensure smooth production operations.
Collaborate with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels and minimize production disruptions.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing ERP systems.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience or training with Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence (Six Sigma or Lean) is a plus
