Brady Corporation Purchasing Representative in Williamsville, New York

The Purchasing Representative will report to the Purchasing Lead. The Purchasing Representative is a key role in support of the Supply Chain Team. The Purchasing Representative will work closely with Buyer/Planners, Sourcing, Customer Service as well as the extended Operations Team to ensure our customers receive the services promised by our vendors.

  • Process vendor acknowledgements in SAP (ERP) and update delivery dates in real time.

  • Expedite Purchase Orders to ensure on time delivery.

  • Coordinate delivery of expedited shipments as needed with Buyers, CSR's, and Warehouses.

  • Communicate with Buyers regarding expedited and backordered demands to ensure proper customer satisfaction levels.

  • Communicate and escalate critical delivery issues to management (Late order or line down situations).

  • Request return authorizations from vendors and process accordingly.

  • Assist in New Vendor Setup.

  • Maintain a harmonious relationship with vendors or prospective vendors in order to enhance the performance and reputation of the company.

  • Work with administration to determine proper response or to resolve problems.

  • Work with assigned problematic vendor invoices; solve and release to AP for processing/payment.

  • Plan and prioritize activities, suggest and implement process improvements aimed at increasing customer service levels, commodity cost reduction, lead time reduction, and supplier consolidation projects.

  • Advise management of improvements on materials and equipment, price changes, marketing changes, and source changes.

  • Technical or business degree is preferred.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Experience and ability to work across multiple teams and work groups.

  • Excellent problem solving skills as well as written and verbal communication skills required.

  • SAP system knowledge preferred.

  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently in completing assigned tasks.

  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
