Summary:
The EMT Sergeant will assists platoon lieutenant with oversight of day-to-day platoon operations. EMS Sergeants will serve as the lead FTO for their assigned platoon. Also performs other administrative/operational tasks as assigned by the Chief of EMS.
Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Full-time EMS Sergeant to join our EMS Division!
Responsibilities include:
The EMT Sergeant will be responsible for providing basic life support care for the critically ill or injured in the pre-hospital setting until the patient is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
Practices within the designated scope of practice as defined by the State of Delaware Board of Medical Practice, Licensure, and Discipline, Saint Francis Hospital, and the State of Delaware Basic Life Support Standing Orders.
Minimum Qualifications:
State of Delaware EMT-B required
National Registry EMT-B required
Successfully satisfied the requirements of the EMT Corporal position
Completion of 3 years of service with the Saint Francis Hospital EMS Department.
AHA Healthcare Provider CPR/AED
AHA BLS Instructor Certification
Completion of currently accepted departmental Field Training Officer course and have served as an FTO.
High School Graduate or GED required
Valid Driver’s License required
State of Delaware Emergency Vehicle Operators License (Or the ability to obtain within 6 months)
PHTLS Provider Certification
NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
