Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Admissions purpose is to recruit, admit, and enroll students who will perform successfully in the collegiate community. The recruitment processing through enrollment processing takes place in this unit. Daily contact with the public, including contact with professionals in all disciplines of the university, is involved. Telephone contact also involves an accurate knowledge of relaying Admissions policies and procedures set forth by the University and the Office of admissions. The office engages in a wide range of activities designed to publicize and describe the programs, activities and other opportunities available at

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

This position will be a hybrid (on campus and remote) role that will report directly to the Associate Director for Systems and Operations for the primary purpose of overseeing all Operations activity in the Office of Admissions. Duties include:

  • Managing Operations workflow, establishing priorities, setting deadlines, and making adjustments as necessary
  • Overseeing payment processing and reconciliation
  • Ensuring timely and courteous customer service by Operations staff
  • Coordinating the operational budget
  • Managing phone call flow processes, assisting in establishing phone lines for Admissions employees, and managing phone messages for office closures
  • Directing mail and letter generation efforts, including Slate generated mailings, and coordinating with the on campus Postal Service
  • Maintain office inventory and assisting in ordering supplies as needed for Operations
  • Establishing team goals, tracking productivity, and reviewing performance measures
  • Evaluating team needs and providing suggestions for potential improvements to the Associate Director
  • Direct supervision of Operations staff, including coordinating individual performance goal-setting, conducting yearly evaluations, approving leave reports, and other supervisory tasks
  • Participating in meetings with systems team to determine opportunities for system enhancements and consulting on projects as they pertain to the Operations team
  • Hiring and coordinating temporary or student workers as needed
  • Other office duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; including some experience as a lead worker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Two years experience in an office management and supervisory role. Work-flow management experience,

CRM (Slate) experience, payment/deposit management experience, Excellent written and oral communication skills, Microsoft Office and document editing experience
