Robert Half Staff Accountant in Wilmington, North Carolina

Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to join our construction company. This detail oriented will take charge of our financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, accurate record-keeping, and high-level financial analysis. Responsibilities: Manage all financial transactions and consolidations related to the construction business. Prepare and maintain budgets, financial reports, tax returns, and other financial records. Develop financial strategies and make proficient recommendations to the senior management team. Monitor account reconciliations, expense classifications, payroll, subcontractor payments, and other financial transactions. Stay updated on industry legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with construction financial rules and guidelines. Collaborate directly with project management teams to analyze job costs and profitability. Act as a liaison with external auditors and manage internal controls. Use accounting software to automate processes, maintain records, generate reports, and ensure accuracy. Requirements Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). A minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws and reporting requirements. Proficient with accounting software, preferably construction-specific solutions. Exceptional skills in accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a proven strategic thinker, with a strong record of solving complex financial challenges and meeting financial objectives.
