Temporary/Contract-to-Hire Collections Specialist NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!
Location: Onsite in Wilsonville, OR
Compensation: $22/hour to $26/hour DOE
Job Description:
Award-winning Manufacturer/Distributor is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join their finance team in Wilsonville, OR. In this role, you will manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments from our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring accounts, investigating overdue payments, and implementing strategies to recover outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a firm grasp of financial regulations, and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues.

responsibilities:
As the newest member of this team, you will be tasked with:
Monitoring accounts receivable to identify outstanding debts.
Investigating historical data for each debt or bill to understand payment patterns and reasons for delinquency.
Contact clients via phone, email, or other methods to inquire about overdue payments and negotiate payment plans.
Take appropriate actions to encourage timely debt payments, which may include sending payment reminders, arranging payment schedules, or initiating collection proceedings.
Process payments received and issue refunds when necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with the billing department and customer service team to resolve billing and customer credit issues.
Update account status records and document collection efforts accurately in the accounting system.
Prepare and present regular reports on collection activity, accounts receivable status, and aging analysis to management.
qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1-2 years of experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role.
Proficiency in utilizing financial software and MS Office applications; experience with databases is a plus.
Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques, including skip tracing.
Familiarity with laws related to debt collection, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
Detail-oriented with a strong eye for errors and inconsistencies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently.
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets effectively.
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred.
