Eaton’s EPG CHD ALP Airport Lighting Products division is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer. This role is located at our Windsor, CT facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. - Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

In this role you will:

  • Apply your technical background in Electrical Engineering to provide Crouse-Hinds with new and competitive LED Airport lighting solutions.

  • Develop an understanding of the current product line for the purpose of supporting both production and field service.

  • Invent and submit patents that will benefit the Crouse-Hinds treasure chest of innovative ideas.

  • Attend technical conferences that are relevant to LEDs, lighting, and switching power supplies.

  • Document work in terms of Engineering drawings, Test reports, and notebooks.

  • Understand FAA, ICAO, and TP312 specifications for Airfield Lighting.

  • Participate in new product design reviews, DFMEA and test plans required for thorough product validation testing.

  • Develop and test new electrical designs. Work with vendors to produce the corresponding new PCB.

  • Conduct FAI of new PCBs.

This is an exciting and challenging technical position that involves the following areas of expertise:

  • LED lighting, Optical Design, LED switching power supplies

  • Large power sources (from 4KW to 30KW) such as constant current regulators

  • Embedded control firmware programming (C++, assembly)

  • TMS320F2803x microcontrollers, PCB design (Altium, OrCAD)

  • LabVIEW, Patents and inventions

  • EMI emissions (radiated & conducted) and susceptibility, Electrical modeling (PSpice), Thermal modeling (MATLAB, Solid Works)

  • Bode Plots, 2nd order differential equations (Resistors, Inductors, Capacitors).

  • Experimental Design. (Know how to set up, run, and document an experiment.)

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Electrical Engineering.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Windsor, CT to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Five (5) years of electrical engineering experience
