Mechanical Project Engineer
Essential Job Functions
Prepare engineering changes, write specifications, and update part drawings
Ability to read and interpret blue print drawings
Review project objectives by reading project proposals and plans; which involve customer interfacing
Verify project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
Track project progress by updating the plan due to schedule changes.
Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Own and manage various project tracking tools, and coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely updates are made to enable educated project management decisions for customers.
Prepare and present data to the customer in PP format
Experience with five why’s, fishbone diagram, and presenting data in an effective manner
Familiarity performing RRCA investigations
Experience in EPEC TeamCenter, Windchill PLM, CAD, and SAP
Secondary Job Functions:
Have an understanding of qualification testing including vibration, shock, thermal, sand and dust, sheer stress, burst, pressure; generation of analytical reports and test reports; data reviews, requirements reviews; support of internal meetings; procurement support (for SRI's and CAD's), preferred, but not required
Execute analysis tasks and make technical recommendations based on engineering judgment
Capable of supporting production testing; data pack generation, engineering changes; machine, design (rotary and linear) preferred, but not required
You have a 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
You have 2+ years of experience with project engineering
You have 1+ years of experience interfacing with customers, preferably in an engineering service industry.
You have experience with design engineering, preferably in an aerospace industry
You have proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
You have an aptitude for creating status presentations that provide metrics reports and/or analysis charts
You have the ability to read a part drawing
You have some experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, particularly Teamcenter
You are excited and eager to assist project completion, primarily through holding others accountable
You are not afraid to knock on doors, call up customers or suppliers to gain information, inputs, and/or approvals to ensure a project stays on schedule
You see yourself as a self-motivated, disciplined, and organized individual driven by a passion to provide solutions
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
