Crops/Commodities:\ Potatoes.\ This job requires a minimum of 12 months of verifiable prior experience driving/servicing the combination of a tractor unit and semi-trailer, or a 3-axle or greater straight chassis tractor with a GVWR rating of greater than 26,001 lbs. with a trailer.\ Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Workers must be able to perform all duties with accuracy and efficiency.

Worker will drive semi tractor-trailer truck to/from specified destinations within area of intended employment; maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Driver will perform duties in both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions.\ Worker must possess the ability to successfully operate in rough and adverse off-road conditions and ability to drive truck underneath the harvester boom safely, as instructed by the harvester driver. Worker must possess the ability to read a map,\ understand directions, use GPS and successfully navigate to a specific location; complete electronic log (training will be provided, if needed) and or paper logs when required; regularly climb up and down, on, into and out of tractor and trailers; complete\ pre-trip and post-trip inspection and ELOGs/paperwork for trucks and trailers; perform all preventive maintenance duties to assigned fleet vehicle (grease fifth wheel, lube zerk fittings, wheel hubs, change oil, along with oil and air filters, and replace\ windshield wipers.) Assist with reactive maintenance on assigned fleet vehicle, to include troubleshoot and repair minor electrical problems, such as blown fuses, marker lights, tag lights and headlights, replace damaged landing gear legs, sand pads\ and crank handles, air lines and be willing and able to learn internal trailer wall patch and repair. Driver should possess the willingness and ability to change a truck or trailer tire, as well as perform or learn brake system maintenance, to include\ replacing brake drums, shoes/pads, brake chambers and slack adjusters. Driver is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly surface and deep cleanings of assigned fleet vehicle, including exterior, chassis, engine area and trailers. Truck/trailer wash\ will largely be done by the driver through the use of company provided pressure washers at the terminal area or at farm locations, though some exceptions may be granted for commercial facility use on a limited basis. Worker may also operate pull\ tractor to aid in the extraction of tractors and/or trailers that have become stuck in sand, mud, snow, grass, etc. and will operate a hosteling truck to jockey trailers and/or form loading lines for filling and weighing purposes. Driver must be willing and able\ to assist farm personnel at the loading area and shipping line as required. These duties could include but are not limited to the following: standing on the sorting line to remove unsatisfactory potatoes, rocks and other foreign material, shoveling dirt,\ debris and unusable potatoes that have been discarded from the shipping line process, and moving trailers into and out of loading bays as required. Workers must be willing to learn and assist in the installation and removal of seasonal trailer ventilation\ systems. This will include installing and removing tubes, connecting and disconnecting ducts from trailers as well as learn to operate assigned generators and air conditioning equipment.

Employer requires that a successful applicant possess a valid Class A CDL, or equivalent, as a condition of employment. Workers must maintain a valid CDL and a clean driving record throughout employment and comply with applicable requirements of\ the United States Department of Tra sportation regulations. A clean driving record has no disqualifying factors under applicable law or under employer\'s motor vehicle insurance policy.

Workers with appropriate licenses may transport other workers to and from employer-provided housing directly to worksites each day and may transport workers around farms during the workday, may transport crops, supplies, tools and/or equipment/supplies between employer\'s farm locations, on private or public roads. Workers do not deliver to customers. Workers may drive multi-purpose vehicles that have a capacity of less than 13 tons, require a standard driver\'s license to operate, and may be used on or off farm by the workers (e.g., drive to the grocery store, bank, etc. at their discretion). Workers are not required or expected to arrange for the routine pick-up of another worker or groups of workers on a regular schedule at other housing locations or centralized pick-up points.

Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer.

Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker\'s Sabbath or federal holidays.
