Millerbernd Manufacturing Co. Robotic Automation Technician in Winsted, Minnesota

NOW HIRING: The Path Cell Robotics Automation Technician / Automation Technician will execute and maintain automated robotic systems and is responsible for setting up, operating, loading, and unloading various machines/equipment to manufacture metal products following product specifications. This is an onsite position in Winsted, Minnesota.

As a Path Cell Robotics Automation Technician / Automation Technician, you will:

  • Provides technical support of the automated cell to ensure minimal downtime and optimal productivity

  • Identifies problems and issues in robotic systems, communicating with internal engineers, specialists, or other staff to diagnose and understand issues.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs or corrects problems, which may include repairs and revisions to hardware (disassembly and reassembly of robots and peripheral equipment) and software (investigation of programming code for mistakes).

  • Installs, programs, reprograms, and repairs and maintains robots and equipment such as controllers, end-of-arm tooling, and conveyors.

  • Uses tools, templates, and fixtures to align, fit, or assemble components.

  • Uses tools such as electronic voltmeters to test the performance of robotic assemblies; documents procedures and test results.

  • Evaluates the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems; reprograms, calibrates, or makes recommendations for enhancements to achieve maximum quantity and quality.

  • Performs preventive and curative maintenance on robotic systems and components.

  • Maintains service records for automated production systems and robotic equipment.

  • Assists engineers with design, configuration, and robotic systems applications.

  • Sets up and safely operates equipment and reports any potential safety issues on work cells; ensures safety at all times.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Role Qualifications as a Path Cell Robotics Automation Technician / Automation Technician:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Vocational or Associate degree in a related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • At least one year of related experience or apprenticeship required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical repair, computer programming, and electric circuit design

  • Basic understanding of programming code used to control devices

  • Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers and electronics schematics

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions

  • Ability to use forklift, hoist, crane, and other handling equipment

  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools

  • Ability to use various measuring devices

  • Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete logs and reports

The actual base salary for this role is based on various factors, including but not limited to market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The range provided is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

  • Shift options:

  • 1st shift is Monday - Thursday 5am – 3pm

  • 2nd shift is Monday - Thursday 3pm – 1am includes a $1.50/hour shift differential

  • Weekend shift is Friday – Sunday 5am – 5pm includes a $2.50/hour shift differential

  • 10-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks (1st and 2nd shifts)

  • 12-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks (weekend shift)

  • Voluntary Overtime is available
