Overview

THE ROLE:

The Senior SCADA Programmer/ Engineer (Sr. Control Integration Engineer with experience in SCADA programming) will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in here Winston-Salem, NC and play a meaningful role in providing technical leadership and expertise in SCADA systems and control engineering within Herbalife's manufacturing facilities. Will be responsible for leading all aspects of the design, implementation, and optimization of control systems, providing strategic guidance, and driving innovation. Control Integration Engineer will perform SCADA programming.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SCADA Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking group. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and securing critical systems that power our organization's infrastructure.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  1. Provide strategic leadership in the design, development, and coordination of control systems and SCADA for Herbalife's manufacturing operations. Drive innovation by demonstrating programming expertise in AVEVA SCADA systems and other relevant technologies to enhance and upgrade existing systems.

  2. Lead the installation, integration, and commissioning of control systems and SCADA systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Lead and develop reports from Historian and SQL. Manage and develop functional and technical documentation for the SCADA solution.

  3. Mentor and train line and maintenance personnel on operating, maintaining, and upgrading control systems, ensuring a skilled workforce.

  4. Collaborate closely with the Global Technology Services (GTS) department to develop and implement SCADA upgrades and enhancements.

  5. Lead component and equipment validation and qualification testing to ensure compliance with specifications. Evaluate equipment vendors, sources, and specifications based on manufacturing needs and cost reduction requirements.

  6. Oversee and lead the internal and contract staff engaged in control system and SCADA projects.

  7. Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, PARs, and Requisitions and manage tracking of the expenditures for multiple locations.

  8. Foster collaboration with departments such as Manufacturing, Packaging, Maintenance, Controls Engineering, Computer system validation, IT/IS, and Industrial Engineering on equipment controls and SCADA activities.

  9. Optimize maintenance systems to support the control and SCADA systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and uptime. Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support to production and maintenance teams, resolving complex equipment and system issues. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.

  10. Undertake additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the activities of the internal and contract staff.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in SCADA systems and control engineering, with a proven track record of deploying projects using AVEVA software (Edge, Historian, System Platform, Insight).

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as VBA, VBScript, .NET, and SQL/Oracle.

  • Strong understanding of OPC UA and Allen Bradley driver protocols.

  • Ability to analyze processes and translate requirements into technical designs and solutions.

  • Experience in implementing, upgrading, migrating, or supporting SCADA systems.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, especially in Production and Maintenance.

  • In-depth knowledge of network architecture and data flow.

Experience:

  • 5 + years as Control Integration Engineer with experience in SCADA programming. Experience working in package development and the food industry is desirable.

Education:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience preferably in Pharmaceutical, Food, or CPG industries

  • Good working knowledge of cGMPs
