Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of our on-premises IT infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and performance for 100-150 end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ITIL principles, virtualization technologies like VMware, and extensive experience managing Dell hardware and storage systems. You will be a champion for security best practices, keeping unauthorized access at bay and staying current with the latest tech trends. Additionally, you will play a key role in vendor management and stakeholder communication.
Must Have Skills:
10+ years of experience in a senior systems administration role
Proven knowledge of ITIL methodologies
Expertise in VMware vSphere and related technologies
In-depth experience managing Dell server and storage infrastructure (on-premises)
Strong understanding of IT governance and control frameworks
Proven ability to manage and engage with vendors effectively
A keen awareness of cybersecurity best practices and a commitment to staying current with evolving threats and vulnerabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Scripting knowledge
Experience with IT automation tools
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the company's on-premises IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and operating systems
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems
Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and data security maintenance
Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems proactively
Install, configure, and maintain software applications
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
Manage vendor relationships and ensure optimal service delivery
Participate in IT project planning and implementation
Stay informed about the latest IT trends and best practices
