Insight Credit Union Payment Dispute Specialist - Winter Springs in Winter Springs, Florida

Responsibilities and Qualifications:**

  • Review generated reports for the purpose of identifying activity which could cause a loss to the credit union. Charge-off negative share accounts per policy and procedures. Coordinate the recovery of losses on deposit accounts. Settle amounts owned within discretion provided by management. Respond to member inquiries and decision recovery efforts for charged-off accounts.
  • Perform duties associated with processing ACH debit/credit transactions, Incoming/Outgoing Wires, Remote Deposit Capture, check deposit/clearing, Return Deposited Checks, ATM credits/debit, debit card credits/debit and other tasks associated with posting to accounts. Review, research and respond to staff inquiries regarding account posting operations. Maintain accurate reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts. Research problems or questions from members, clearinghouses, or correspondents. Review settlement reports, research GL outages and cash over/short. Adjust account GLs, and member accounts as needed.
  • Provide support to Retail Operations. Decision high risk transactions which can include check deposits, check cashing, new account request, reopening of closed existing accounts, issuance of home banking credentials, debit cards, or other account access services.
  • Process legal documents, writs of garnishment, subpoena, levies and other legal filings served to the Credit Union within prescribed timeframes.
  • Scan and index records into the credit unions record retention database.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience in loss prevention, ACH or large account/direct deposit transfers.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending as necessary.

Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
