Need 5 temporary, full-time, seasonal Beekeepers to work in Winthrop, MN and these Minnesota counties: Scott, Meeker, Kandiyohi, Morrison, Redwood, Brown, LeSueur, Wright, Nicollet, Cottonwood, Mcleod, Blue Earth, Benton, and in Houston County, in Texas. From: 07/14/2024 to 10/31/2024 Work: 54 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 9 hrs./day Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a workers Sabbath or federal holidays. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. ESST Law: Worker will receive (1) hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked (Maximum of 48 hours). Must Apply By: 09/07/2024 JOB DUTIES: Prepare bees and bee equipment for pollination. Harvest/extract honey. Manipulate and service hive structures and haul bees to and from different hive locations to ensure healthy and productive honeybee colonies. Worker must be familiar in working with bees. General maintenance and servicing of equipment and facility. Workers need to have no fear of bees and be non-allergic to pollen and bee stings. An applicant for this position must work the entire itinerary. Work is to be done in the field for long periods of time. Workers are expected to perform duties including boxing, weighing and loading of product. Workers will assist in loading trucks with product. JOB REQUIREMENTS: This job requires a minimum of three months of prior experience working on a honeybee farm handling both manual and machine tasks associated with beekeeping. Saturday work required. Job requires pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, request stooping or bending over and repetitive movements. Must be able to lift/carry 75 lbs. Workers need to have no fear of bees and be non-allergic to bee stings, pollen, honey or other products of the hive. Must be able to work in excessive humidity and heat up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. No minimum education required. Expected Itinerary: MN: 07/14/2024 - 10/01/2024 TX: 10/02/2024 - 10/31/2024 EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
