CMM Operator Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Essential Job Duties and Functions Operate CMM to support manufacturing in-process first piece, internal inspection points and customer required first article inspection. Provide technical support for manufacturing operations to ensure part quality. Interprets drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) to identify product inspection requirements. Facilitates, encourages, and coordinates continuous improvement with respect to CMM activities. Generates inspection reports. Inspect complex machined fixtures, and parts using advanced measuring and layout instruments and equipment. Participates in design reviews on cross-functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications, inspect ability, reliability, and quality system objectives are met. Assist engineering with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts. Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures. Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications. Work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings and 3D models. Perform all other duties as assigned trust with the supplier, direct reports, and peers. Employee must be able to: Model behaviors of reliability as outlined in Company Attendance Policy, regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required. Essential Skills and Attributes Demonstrated accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning, and engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, manufacturing control plans including PCM, and other technical design standards. Advanced mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents), familiar with geometric tolerance. Experience accurately reading precision measuring instrumentation including mics, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, and other similar devices. Understanding of nonconforming product. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English). Excel and ERP system experience a plus Required Education A high School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in a related field is preferred. Required Experience A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a CMM Operator in a Manufacturing & Machining Environment is required; aerospace industry experience is preferred. A combination of related experience in manufacturing for aerospace and internal training for operating may be considered in place of operation experience.
