Skookum is seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Inspector I. The Quality Inspector I is an entry level position, responsible for determining fabricated/machined product acceptance to aerospace quality standards using a variety of inspection gauges and specifications. Works with time sensitive requirements under the supervision of the Quality Manager. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Perform incoming, in-process and final dimensional inspection using a variety of gauges; micrometers, calipers, test indicators, height gauges, based on the drawing of the product to be measured. Perform visual inspection against internal/customer specifications using good judgment regarding workmanship issues. Document inspection results per customer requirements. Perform daily checks of gauges for calibration deviations. Interface with Estimating, Planning, Programming and Manufacturing regarding product quality issues. Identify, document, and analyze defects deviation and corrective actions within the philosophy of continuous improvement. Generate and process NCR documentation on discrepant products. Conduct process/product audits and report findings. Participate in process improvement activities. Maintains all relevant quality documentation related to the position. Verify sub-supplier operations by comparing supplier certification documents against detailed customer standards. Manage or generate all associated detailed documentation including supplier certs, internal certs, inspection documents, etc. Reconcile discrepancies with company personnel, and external suppliers. Report to the Quality Manager on day-to-day activities within the department and accept constructive feedback. Maintain a high standard of effectiveness in the position. Successfully complete any training courses deemed necessary by supervision. Assist management procedures in preparation for multiple internal audits each year. May be exposed to loud noises, confined spaces, dust, or fumes. Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others.
