Position Summary:

The Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Online Student Advisory Board Officer - Communications & Marketing Chair – Graduate Assistant, Remote position.

Summary of Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies for the Online Student Advisory Board (“OSAB”) to engage the participation of other online students.

  • Create engaging content for digital platforms to promote OSAB initiatives, events, and services.

  • Manage OSAB’s social media presence, including content scheduling and community engagement.

  • Collaborate with FAU’s marketing team to reach the online student community effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

FAU degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a

minimum of 3.0 GPA. Must be enrolled in at least one FAU online course for the fall and spring

semesters. Commitment to serving in the role for at least one academic year.

Preferred skills include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Comfortable applying or willing to learn a great range of software and technology.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Receptive to feedback and willingness to improve skills.

More specifically:

• Experience in marketing, communications, or social media management.

• Strong writing and content creation skills.

• Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics.

• Creative thinking skills with attention to detail and ability to engage online audiences.

Salary:

$15 - $17 per hour.

College or Department:

The Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE).

Location:

Work Remote – Within Florida

Work Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday, Part-time between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., up to 10 hours per week, some nights and weekends as needed. This is a flexible part-time remote position.
