We are looking for:

The position of Reliability Engineer will be working as part of a multi disciplined maintenance team. The successful incumbent will be capable of working in a team environment with operations, maintenance and engineering personnel to help a site run safely and economically and to support all business unit objectives. In addition, a large portion of time will be spent resolving day to day unit issues. A good troubleshooting skill-set and knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis methods is required.

The Reliability Engineer:

  • Provides technical support, guidance, direction and leadership in the design and implementation of electrical equipment and systems. Is responsible for the timely resolution of technical issues.

  • Must be a safety champion to ensure that all projects are completed with no injuries.

  • Provides cost and manpower estimates for design, installation and start-up of new equipment

  • Must be able to plan and guide small projects to ensure that all deliverables and timing needs are met.

  • Reviews and approves engineering calculations, reports, drawings, specifications and purchase documents to assure the design and procurement of equipment meets appropriate quality standards and regulatory body requirements and provides the required functionality.

  • Addresses short term hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance and related equipment problems.

  • Identifies and recommends the implementation of resources (manpower & money) to insure the most economic running of the unit.

  • Participates with operations, maintenance, engineering and others in developing and implementing work process improvement activities.

  • Tracks necessary metrics to identify improvement opportunities, notice certain trends, and ensure needs are met.

  • Must be able to manage external contractors to deliver the sites goals

You will bring:

  • A recognised Engineering-related qualification (NVQ level 4/HNC ideal) and a strong maintenance engineering background (the hiring manager is flexible on discipline)

  • The ability to solve a range of technical problems and make the necessary decisions to rectify

  • Ability to communicate and present reports with others on technical requirements and modifications

  • Experience of TPM, PPM and Engineering Improvement Projects •

  • Understanding of PPM systems

  • COMPEX qualified (advantageous)

  • Basic Safety Related work based training
