As a Leather Sewer/Stitcher at Circle Y, you will be trained to contribute to our production process, learning essential skills in leather-working and assembly under the guidance of experienced artisans. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while producing high-quality leather goods.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assembly of various leather components, including panels, straps, pockets, and linings, to create finished products such as bags, wallets, belts, and accessories.
- Learn and follow assembly instructions and specifications provided by supervisors, ensuring accuracy and consistency in each task.
- Perform basic leather working tasks, such as cutting, sewing, stitching, and gluing, to prepare components for assembly.
- Support quality control efforts by inspecting leather components for defects and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete assembly tasks efficiently and meet production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, materials, and finished products.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of leatherworking techniques and tools is a plus but not required.

Qualifications:
- No prior experience required; willingness to learn and train on the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in craftsmanship, leather-working, or related fields is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand strength for handling tools and materials.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to various materials and chemicals.
