Aston Carter Production Planner in Yorba Linda, California


  • Establish, review, and manage a master schedule.

  • Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.

  • Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.

  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.

  • Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.

  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.

  • Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.

  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.

  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.

  • Identify and implement process improvements within the supply chain and manufacturing to enable overall strategic improvement.

  • Plan, organize, and control the master schedule that balances the overall capacity, material availability, inventory levels, and customer service levels required to meet business objectives.

  • Become subject matter expert with our ERP system.

  • Forecast production, level load production across multiple departments, and identify potential corrective actions to balance capacity; escalate hindrances to production schedule.

  • Responsible for reporting backlog status, past due, production tracking, order priorities, material requirements, or other required reporting.

  • Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions appropriate to support manufacturing.

  • Proactively manage and resolve capacity constraints with manufacturing.

  • Develop and maintain close interpersonal relationships with other areas of the business to optimize the scheduling of products.

  • Responsible for analyzing, improving, and controlling MRP settings to support an efficient flow of material in and out of the facility.

  • Supervise and coordinate Planning, Procurement, Production Control, Inventory Control and Shipping.

  • Coach, mentor, train, or assign training to the team to improve performance.

  • Integrate sales orders into the production schedule and coordinates availability of materials, supplies, and resources as needed to meet required dates.

  • Responsible for following, improving, and updating documented processes associated with procurement, receiving, shipping, planning, and inventory control.

  • Other duties or tasks may be assigned as necessary to support company objectives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution.

  • Strong critical problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient knowledge of ERP System is a must.

  • At least 5 years of related experience preferred.

  • Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred.

  • APICS, CIPM, or NAPM, CPM certification preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
