Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for Head of Sales Controlling to join the Nestle UK&I Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class Co-pilot service to the Sales function, collaborating closely with the Head of Sales, CBT Heads, and National Account Managers. Your expertise in financial and economic analysis will be instrumental in maximising revenue and ensuring optimal resource utilisation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring market compliance and NIM synergies.
As the Head of Sales Controlling, you will have overall responsibility for finance-related demand support activities, including accruals and deductions management, audit claims, and deductions purging.
This is a highly visible and strategically significant position within the Sales Senior Leadership Team, offering full UK&I responsibility for Commercial input. You will lead a team of 9 direct reports and 47 indirect reports, making this an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact.
A day in the life of Head of Finance Sales Controlling UK&I ...
As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Head of F&C and collaborate closely with senior leaders in the Sales function. Your primary objective will be to establish and implement best practices, ensuring that our commercial capabilities are robust and continuously improving. This includes enhancing our processes, technologies, and ways of working to ensure they are always aligned with our objectives, providing us with a competitive edge, maximising business value, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Deductions/ audit claims - drive the early resolution of deductions and audit claims, ensuring transparency of risks and opportunities to improved profit forecast accuracy. Minimise value of deductions purging. Ensure learnings are recycled into the business. Align solid processes in place around deductions and audit claims, identifying invalid deductions and securing early repayment, working with Sales, Supply Chain and IBS as appropriate.
Quarterly Investment Reviews (QIRs) - ensure action focused QIRs are in place across NiM and that Sales Controlling is working with CDT, Category Finance Partners and Sales to identify key decisions, opportunities and discussion topics.
Shopper marketing (inc Retail Digital Media) - ensure effective planning/ budgeting and strategy, ensuring compliance of execution versus plans aligned across NiM.
Structural costs - monitor evolution of sales MOGEs and advise sales organisation on annual resource planning and variance tracking.
Matrix management - be the bridge/ ambassador between the Finance community and Sales Team to ensure transparency, alignment and proactive collaboration.
Ad hoc Category support - support Category Head of Finance with any business projects with a commercial dimension (sales/ trade investment/ SRM/ customer or product portfolio etc).
Data quality - ensure quality financial information is used by the business for decision making and that potential risks and opportunities are anticipated and understood.
Identify opportunities to develop and expand best practice tools that support process improvements, eliminate waste and add value whilst driving standardisation and ways of working across the Sales function and Finance Sales Controlling teams.

In addition to these qualities, we are seeking candidates with the following experience:
Extensive experience in F&C, with exposure to F&C LT and Category LT.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrix environment, achieving exceptional results through effective influencing, collaboration, and establishing credibility with senior stakeholders.
Senior-level experience in commercial finance co-piloting.
Strong influencing skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with stakeholders.
Demonstrated ownership and leadership in resolving complex business issues.
