Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in York, Maine. The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including account reconciliation, bookkeeping, and data entry. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department. This position is 3 days a week, during regular business hours.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
• Work closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely data entry in Sage accounting software.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for internal use.
• Monitor customer accounts for irregularities or discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Expertise in Bank Reconciliations
• Previous experience in Bookkeeping
• Proficient in Data Entry
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail
