Title: Assistant Building Engineer
Location: York PA 17403 (Onsite)
Duration: 1 Year (Potential to convert to Full-Time)
Pay Range $25.00 to $35.00/hr.
We are looking for a “Assistant Building Engineer” to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Building Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on building systems and industrial equipment. The successful candidate will work under moderate supervision and utilize various trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and roofing to ensure smooth operation of the facility.
You will assist in monitoring building systems' performance and ensure that all equipment complies with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives. The role requires physical activity, including walking, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy objects.
Responsibilities:
Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
Assist in monitoring building system operations (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including plumbing systems, roofs, drains, kitchen equipment, and HVAC units.
Inspect building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure they operate within design capabilities and environmental conditions.
Maintain equipment per preventive maintenance programs and manufacturers' specifications.
Support the energy management program to ensure efficient system operations and minimize costs.
Maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
Comply with all governmental regulations and company safety protocols.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of general maintenance experience.
4+ years of preventive maintenance experience, including boiler, HVAC, and plumbing expertise.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry loads over 50 lbs.
