Aston Carter Assistant Buyer in York, Pennsylvania

Description:

  • Supports order entry and contract reviews. Acts as primary buyer for production materials. Manages supplier development and improvement activities. Analyze opportunities for improvement to processes and costs.

  • Receive new and change order from customers. Acknowledge All order to customers (using their portals if required).

  • Initiate Contract review, Sales / transfer orders and supplier purchase orders. Includes pricing and revision reviews. Electronically file documents (attaching to orders in ERP system).

  • Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (quantity contracts / consignment) program (creating, managing open agreements.

  • Support review of customer delivery schedules.

  • Work with Production Manager to print / release job packets. Act as backup to production manager when needed.

  • Maintain customer and supplier price lists.

  • Support load planning with involvement in scheduling meetings, working with operations manager, production manager and stamping supervisor.

  • Manage supplier purchase orders: placing, tracking and closing.

  • Lead the Supplier Development and Improvement program, working with suppliers not meeting KPI requirements to achieve improvement.

  • Manage supplier base, adding and removing suppliers as needed in ERP system.

  • Support metal pricing RFQ and competitive bidding process.

  • Support phone call activity as needed.

  • Participate in cost reduction savings projects. Provide data mining support.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of administrative driven experience within a manufacturing setting

  • Experience processing purchase orders

  • Microsoft Office including Excel

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with vendors is a plus
